Taj Mahal was built long before Shah Jahan came into existence. This has been claimed for years by one of the greatest writers of the modern times, also the founder of the 'institute for rewriting indian history', Mr. P N OAK, based on some facts that can actually make you believe that the whole world has been duped for the whole time.
In his badshahnama (http://tajmahalrealhistory.wordpress.com/tag/badshahnama/), Shah Jahan has admitted that he acquired the beautiful tomb Tejo Mahalaya from the king Jaya Singh for the burial of his third wife Begum Mumtaz-ul-Zamani.
Carbon dating tests of the wood taken from a door of the monument suggests that its been there for 300 years before Shah Jahan.
European traveler Johan Albert Mandelslo, who visited Agra in 1638 (only seven years after Mumtaz's death), describes the life of the city in his memoirs. But he makes no reference to the monument being built. The writings of Peter Mundy, an English visitor to Agra within a year of Mumtaz's death, also suggested that It was a noteworthy building well before Shah Jahan's time.
In a photographic presentation by Stephen Knapp (www.stephenknapp.com/was_the_taj_mahal_a_vedic_temple.htm) many evidences of vedic influence can be seen in the historical monument.
Apart from all the above facts, Mr. Oak claims that there are proofs hidden in the locked chambers
of the monument that It was actually used as a Shiva temple by the Rajputs of agra.
But the voice and words of this great writer has always been suppressed by the Indian govt just for the sake of VOTE BANK POLITICS.
